Blogmas – Sinterklaas visited – 6th December 2019

I didn’t want to get up this morning. I don’t think any of us did. Well Bella did. She came into me at 8.30am and I had to tell her to be quiet because daddy was asleep. Daly’s switching back to night shifts. I sorted out Bella’s iPad and back she went to her bedroom.

At 10.30am I was still struggling to wake up. Bella wanted to join me in bed. So in she got and we snuggled back down in bed with Bella watching various Nick Jr shows. Daly was still sound asleep next to us. While we were in bed I was receiving messages from my auntie in Holland asking what Bella had thought of the goodies Sinterklaas had left us. She had completely forgotten about it but that was soon going to change. She was off to Grandma’s today so we needed to get up.

We went downstairs and I reminded Bella of our shoes under the gas fire. She went over to see what had happened. She was very excited when she saw the chocolate and biscuits in the shoes. She instantly pulled out the chocolate Sinterklaas. She wanted to eat him straight away but I told her no. She’d only just got up so she wasn’t having chocolate. Instead I gave her some toast.

Well while I was in the kitchen doing her toast she opened her chocolate Sinterklaas. When I came back into the living room Bella was already eating his head so she’d obviously listened to me telling her no.

I then set about getting us sorted to go out. I went and got myself dressed and sorted out Bella’s bag. I had made sure her bag was ready to go and then popped back upstairs to get Bella’s blanket, baby, and juice bottle. Once Bella had finished with her chocolate it was time to get her dressed. I hadn’t gotten her dressed earlier, I didn’t want to get her dressed and then her cover it chocolate.

We had a little bit of time to kill before I had to take Bella to Grandma’s so I sat down and watched some Youtube. Bella had brought a book home from nursery the other day. She settled down on the beanbag and was reading quietly to herself.

I eventually got her out of the house and into the car. We rocked out to my music on our journey. Bella really wanted to listen to Christmas songs. As soon as she heard sleigh bells she would shout Christmas. Considering there are road works on the way to Dawn and Grant’s it didn’t take us too long to get there.

When we arrived, the house was half looking like Christmas. Dawn had put up her ceiling decorations but her tree was sitting bare in the middle of the living room waiting to be decorated.

I stopped for a cup of tea and a chat. While we chatted Dawn did a bit of tidying and cleaning so she could set up her Christmas decorations. Bella kept asking for toast. That seems to be her favourite food at the moment. Grandma puts jam on her toast and Bella seems to really enjoy it.

Before I left, Bella found Grandma’s decorations. She saw that Grandma was decorating and wanted to join in. She found some little pieces of tinsel and went round placing the tinsel on top of Dawn’s Christmas teddies.

I said goodbye to Dawn and Bella and headed home. When I got home Liam was up and downstairs but Daly was still in bed. I sorted myself out some lunch and then curled up on the sofa to watch some TV with Liam. Daly soon joined us and we cuddled up together. It was nice to spend some couple time with out a small person running around and wanting to go into the kitchen every five minutes.

Soon Daly had to get ready for work and head off. I said goodbye to him and then I headed off myself. I needed to go to Sainsburys to pick up some dinner for tomorrow and some other bits. I said goodbye to Liam and headed off.

I walked down to Sainsburys while listening to my music. I love being able to go for a walk and listen to my music. Annoyingly it started to rain as I got into town. Sadly my teddy coat doesn’t have a hood and I didn’t have an umbrella with me either so I got wet.

I took a walk around Sainsburys and picked up the bits I wanted to get. I then headed back home. Thankfully it had stopped raining now so I didn’t get any wetter on the walk back.

When I got home, Liam was doing the washing up and had tidied the living room. I wasn’t feeling so great so I curled up on the sofa, hoping I wasn’t going to throw up and watched some Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

That’s how my afternoon and evening went. I’ve been feeling ill since I got home from town and although I feel like I should eat and take some painkillers for the headache I’ve got but nope. I’ve managed to eat some toast but I still feel sick. I wish I knew why I was feeling ill. It sucks.

Anyways not as an exciting day as I thought it might be. I suppose that’s the downer to feeling rubbish.

Night all, and let’s see what adventures tomorrow holds for us

Love CiCi x

Christmas is such a wonderful time of the year, filled with love and magic and family but what do you remember from being a child, what are those memories that have stuck with you, right into your adult life?
